2011 - Louisiana Acteen Panel
The Louisiana Acteens Panel is a group of up to four Acteens from churches in Louisiana. The panel is chosen yearly, based on outstanding service and participation in local church and Acteens.
Purpose of Panel - This panel will assist the state Acteens director with planning and promoting state Acteens events.
Responsibilities of Louisiana Acteens Panelists
- Panelists are expected to attend all state Acteens events, the state WMU Annual Meeting in April, and to work at GA Camp at Tall Timbers.
- Panelists are asked to participate in planning and promoting Missions Rendezvous/State Acteens Convention.
- Panelists may be asked to share a testimony on the importance of Acteens in their lives at state and associational WMU events.
- Panelists are asked to be willing and available to share about and promote Acteens in church and associational events. Panelists' names will be made available to associational leadership.
Louisiana Acteens Panel Requirements
- Must be a Christian and active member of a local Southern Baptist church.
- Must be an active member of a local Acteens organization.
- Must be 15 years old on or before April 1 of the service year.
- Must have completed or working on the appropriate grade level in MissionsQuest and be working on the next higher level; must be willing to begin work on appropriate level of MissionsQuest following the 2006 downloadable plan, and make commitment to complete that level during service year. Churches that do not offer MissionsQuest will not be disqualified; please state reason for not completing level.
- Will be expected to attend Missions Rendezvous/State Acteens Convention and WMU Annual Meeting. Must provide own transportation.
- Will be expected to assist at GA Camp at Tall Timbers in the summer. (Staff training: July 7-8; Camp July 18-21 and July 25-28).
- Must be willing to serve from WMU Annual Meeting to WMU Annual Meeting. (April to April).
Application and Selection Processes
- Complete and return the application to: Acteens Panel-WMU Office, PO Box 311, Alexandria, LA 71309. Completed application includes: signature of parent, and required typed paragraphs.
- Deadline for Application is December 1. Download, complete, and return the 2011 LA Acteen Panelist Application. It will be available until November 30, 2010.
- Selection Process will include:
- receipt of completed application
- references from local pastor, Acteens Leader and WMU Director (form will be sent from WMU Office).
- approval of Panelist Selection Committee: State WMU Director, State Acteens Director, state WMU Vice President, one associational Acteens leader and one Associational WMU Director (to be named each year)
- selection will be completed and panelists notified in January.
