***Louisiana Baptist Church Music Conference has been moved to Feb. 25-26, 2011 at Louisiana College***
Our Louisiana Baptist Church Music Department’s goal is to develop Christ centered, well trained, people oriented programs in local churches. To accomplish this, we strive to help develop the skills of lay leadership within the local church, promote fellowship among churches, encourage participation, and give children and youth a glimpse of what God can do with their talents and gifts as they faithfully serve Him.
This is accomplished through the efforts of many individuals.
- Teresa Thomason (Calvary, Alexandria), keyboard consultant -- works to train and encourage pianists who will ultimately serve in churches
- Robin Thomas (First West Monroe), orchestra consultant -- trains and encourages future orchestra members and offers additional training opportunities for orchestra members interested in large orchestral performances
- Robby Sharp (Ellerbee Road Baptist Church), praise band/praise team consultant -- assists praise band/praise team members enhance blended worship services by singing and playing instruments “as unto the Lord”.
- Bonnie Beeman (First Baptist Church, Vivian), children’s choir consultant and Herb Armentrout (Broadmoor Baptist Church), youth choir consultant -- develop young singers to be the best they can be and also give them opportunities to come together, building a fellowship they would miss staying within the walls of their churches.
The prayer of the music staff is that these programs will grow and provide opportunities for the church family to serve together, grow together, and reach out together.
