Hurricane Isaac did a number on Laplace, LA.
The recovery and rebuild is ongoing. Through one of our Association pastors we have connected with an organization that helps communities rebuild after disasters. They have helped rebuild after disaster in many places across the country. The organization is:
8 Days of Hope (8DH).
8DH is a non-profit organization whose "goal is to use the gifts that God has given us to bless others and share the love of Jesus!"
8DH has decided to come to Laplace, LA!
March 9 - 16
This 8DH event in Laplace will be their 10th event. Their plan is to:
- Mobilize approximately 1,500 volunteers during the 8 day event
- Work on over 100 homes.
8DH provides the following at no expense to the missionaries involved:
- materials
- housing
- meals
- work projects
- evening worship
