21 Days of Prayer and Fasting
This year we’ve asked 21 Louisiana pastors and leaders to focus our attention on three specific areas:
Reflecting … what went well in 2012? What ended up being a disappointment? How was your walk with God last year? How can it be more meaningful in 2013? Look at Job, even with all he went through, he encourages us to “... stop and consider the wondrous works of God.” Job 37:14 (ESV).
Repenting … it’s easy to have the mindset that repentance is for those who do not have a relationship with Christ. While it’s true that those without Christ need to repent, so do those of us who already know Him. My conviction is that if more Christians would repent, we would see more non-Christians repent and turn to Christ. Repentance is not a bad thing; it’s a good thing. It turns us away from attitudes and actions that are harmful and toward a loving Father who desires better for us than we desire for ourselves.
Realigning … this is a natural result of repenting. Once we repent, we will realign our attitudes and actions as God’s Spirit leads. Our prayer becomes, “not my will, but your will be done.”
So let’s begin this journey together. You pray for me and I will pray for you; and together, as God’s Spirit works in our hearts, may we shine the light of Jesus in our homes, our communities and across Louisiana.
